Dr. Joel Stephenson

Dr Stephenson has been the Medical Director of the Family Health Care Clinic PSC, Richmond, KY, the Family Practice Clinic of Booneville, Booneville, KY and the Mountain Family Practice Clinic of Manchester, Manchester, KY since 2017.
Dr. Stephenson is Board Certified in Addiction Medicine and Internal Medicine, he is certified in Bioidentical Hormone Replacement Therapy. He is also Board Eligible Medical Acupuncture. Dr. Stephenson has 30 years of experience in Clinical Medicine including Emergency Medicine, Internal Medicine, Administrative Medicine, Primary Care and Integrative Medicine. Lastly Dr. Stephenson was formerly a Clinical Associate Professor of Medicine University of Kentucky College of Medicine.
Kim Cox

Kim Cox is not only a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner, she is also the CEO, owner and founder of not only the Family Health Care Clinic, in Richmond, but also, the Family Health Clinic of Booneville, Booneville, KY, the Mountain Family Health Clinic of Manchester, Manchester, KY and recently opened the Lancaster Family Health, in Lancaster, KY
Kim was born in Booneville KY. She received her Bachelors and Masters in nursing from Eastern KY University and is a Nurse Practitioner. She furthered her education and specialized as a Mental Health Nurse Practitioner. It has been her life long goal to help patients in rural areas not only with Family Medicine but also with Behavioral Health Issues, which includes drug abuse and mental health.
When Kim is not enjoying her time at work, she enjoys spending quality time at home with her husband and children.
Christina W. Callihan
APRN, PMHNP
Christina is a board certified psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner that received her master’s degree from Indiana Wesleyan University and bachelor’s from Eastern Kentucky University. Christina manages and treats a wide range of mental health concerns for adult and pediatric patients including Schizophrenia, Bipolar Disorder, Depression, Anxiety, Eating Disorders, ADHD, Autism Spectrum Disorder, and Addictions. She provides medication management as well as evaluations paying special attention to each individual’s needs. Christina’s goal is always to make sure you feel supported and heard throughout the entire course of your treatment.
Prior to joining Family Healthcare Practice Christina was a critical care nurse practicing in several ICUs and Emergency Departments in the state of Kentucky. She is working to changing how mental health care is viewed and lessening stigmas associated with mental health treatment. Christina grew up in rural Kentucky and is excited and proud to provide mental health services to this underserved population.
Tina Shelton-Coomer
APRN, PMHNP
Tina- Shelton-Coomer is a Board Certified Nurse Practitioner with more than 20 years of experience and is qualified to practice in both primary care and psychiatry; diagnose, treat, and prescribe medication for children, adolescents, and adults. Some of her practice specialties include (but not limited to) ADHD, Depression, Anxiety, Bipolar, and Schizophrenia.
Tina received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Eastern Kentucky University, Richmond, KY in 1996, Bachelors of Arts in Psychology from the University of Kentucky, Lexington, KY in 1993 and her Masters in Psychiatric Nursing from Wesleyan Indiana University in 2018.
Over the course of medical practice, Tina has had the privilege of working in many practice areas, including primary care and family practice, home health as well as in Marketing and as a Pharmaceutical Representative.
Tina has always enjoyed helping people and finds her work very rewarding.
Bobbie Adams

Bobbie has over 20 years of experience as a Nurse practitioner with an emphasis on neurology. She Received her Bachelor in nursing at Eastern Kentucky University in Richmond and then furthered her education and received her Masters in nursing at EKU. Bobbie has been with our clinic since 2020,
She is a specialist in Neurology. She treats patients for migraines, seizures as well as other neurological problems.
Bobbie Adams previously worked at Baptist Health Richmond before joining our Clinic. She also has worked at Veterans Hospital in Lexington.
Bobbie resides in Richmond KY with her husband . When she is not working, she enjoys spending time with her children and grandchildren.
Alaina Nevels
APRN
Alaina Nevels, Nurse Practitioner, is our primary care provider. She received her Masters in Nursing, Nurse Practitioner from Eastern Kentucky University, Richmond, KY. Alaina joined our clinic in 2021. She formerly worked at the Rockcastle Family Wellness in Mt. Vernon. Her area of specialty is primary care medicine and treats patients from school age to geriatrics. She also treats her patients like family members.
Alaina lives in Richmond with her husband.
Hazel Gonzalez
APRN
Hazel Gonzalez is originally from the Philippines and moved to Kentucky when she was a teenager. She enjoys being outdoors, going to church, and traveling with her husband and daughter. She received her Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing from the University of Kentucky in 2014. After a few years of working as an RN, gaining experience in Trauma/Surgical and Internal Medicine, She decided to further her education. In 2019, She received her Master’s Degree from Eastern Kentucky University and became a Family Nurse Practitioner. As a provider, her goal is to work with patients as a team to improve their health and wellbeing.
